Short Golf Courses
Short courses provide an excellent facility at any golf club and are perfect for introducing new golfers to the game. Play over nine holes, each between 20 and 160 metres long with the challenge of bunkers and water hazards along the way.
An effective entry level short course only requires two acres of land.
Benefits of Artificial Turf for Short Courses
Synthetic golf greens by European Golf are a similar quality to USGA (United States Golf Association) specification greens so your golf club patrons will enjoy playing on a professional quality surface all year round. Your golf club will also benefit from the low maintenance properties of artificial turf. Although there is a high initial cost for a synthetic short course, there is no need to hire a qualified green keeper for its upkeep. Artificial turf is a sound investment as you will not need to worry about turf quality, golf course durability, weeds or similar issues.
Practice Areas
Every golf course should provide a practice area for patrons. A typical golf practice are will consist of a putting green with fringe and optional bunkers. This will enable golfers to practice putting and chipping before heading onto the course.
The surface of a synthetic putting green reacts perfectly to the golf ball for putting and chipping practice. Many PGA golfers have a putting green by European Golf, which is a testimony to the high quality artificial surface. Your golf course patrons will shave even more points off their handicap in the new practice area with synthetic putting greens.
The quality of European Golf synthetic putting greens is similar to USGA (United States Golf Association) specification greens. Utilising artificial turf in your golf course practice areas will allow patrons to play anytime of the year. Furthermore, the greens keeper will not be distracted from your main course because artificial turf requires no maintenance.
Infill Greens (Target Greens )
Choose an infill green for long range chipping practice up to 150 yards. Target greens offer a diverse range of practice shots, especially when accompanied by surrounding bunkers or small landscaped water hazards. The sand infill adds more weight to the overlaying turf for an excellent ball response at long range. Although infill greens are not as realistic to putt on as our non-infill Tour Proven TP1 turf, this is the next best thing. Your patrons will enjoy long range chipping and putting practice with target greens from European Golf.
